Beautiful Childrens Bible Stories are for Everyone E-mail
In our lifetimes we are filled with memories. Some are pleasant and some are not so great. There are the memories that cause us to feel warm and loved, or hurt and sad. There are of course also memories that cause us to feel lonely, unloved and resentful. Our past is a part of who we are and we must all reconcile ourselves to that fact.

Our past also plays a large role in shaping who we become. I have always found it very interesting that some people cannot let go of past pain, while others, sometimes in the same family, cannot even remember that the past hurts occurred. The other interesting thing about memories to me is that we never know what is going to trigger a flashback to another time in our lives.

A few weeks ago I was helping with the coffee and donuts after our morning service at church. On my way back to the kitchen area I passed the classrooms where the children were having Sunday school.

One of the teachers had several children sitting in a circle around her and was reading children's Bible stories. I noticed that the church had printable toddler Bible stories and some Bible stories coloring pages and games too.
This scene took me back to when I was a young girl. I would sit on my grandmother’s lap and she would read Bible stories to me.

She would even make up her own humorous Bible stories. My grandmother died when I was sixteen years old. I have not thought about her very often in my adult life, but the memory and sensations of my time spent with her surrounded me that Sunday morning.

My husband and I do not have children, so I have not read Bible stories or listened to them in many years. I commented on this to our pastor that morning during coffee. He told me that there are many great books out with children's Bible stories in them that are geared for teens as well as adults.

He told me that he would loan me one of the books. I have started reading the book, which is divided between the old and new testaments, and have found that the words of the Bible have a great deal more meaning to me reading them in story form. Just as with the children’s Bible stories, the adult version takes passages from the Bible and creates a story that is easier to understand.

This particular book also creates the Bible stories for the present day and age, so they are even more applicable to everyday life. Reading the bible stories has increased my interest in reading the Bible.

I have always had good intentions of spending more time reading the good book, but I never seem to get around to doing it. The book with adult Bible stories has given me a greater desire to do this. I guess that is the purpose behind having the books on Bible stories in the first place.
